Palazzo Grassi Unveils Dense Cultural Program for Teatrino
Palazzo Grassi in Venice has announced a rich cultural program for its Teatrino auditorium, featuring over thirty free events spanning cinema, architecture, publishing, and sound art. The program includes Chronorama Movies, seven screenings tied to the CHRONORAMA photography exhibition, with films from the 1910s to 1970s featuring Charlie Chaplin, Marlene Dietrich, Jean-Luc Godard, Audrey Hepburn, and Constantin Brâncuși. From October 6 to 8, the Festival International du Film sur l'Art (FIFA) of Montreal presents a film series intersecting visual arts, architecture, dance, and performance. Architecture events include five sessions titled Mondo Novo curated by Fosbury Architecture, reflecting on contemporary architecture themes. The exhibition How to put art into a book (November 9-19) gathers 57 artist books and catalogs selected by artists, designers, and curators including Luca Massimo Barbero and Salvatore Settis. Sound art features a performance by Camille Normen and a concert by duo Invernomuto (Simone Bertuzzi and Simone Trabucchi) on October 27, followed by a masterclass. The Grand Tour program invites international institutions; on November 17-18, Berlin's Haus der Kulturen der Welt will lead workshops on museum education, semiotics, and epistemology of bodies. The program aims to animate Venice's cultural scene with accessibility and quality, continuing the Teatrino's decade-long tradition.
