Palazzo Grassi Hosts Fashion in Film Festival and Workshop

festival-fair · 2026-05-05

From January 24 to 26, 2018, Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana in Venice presents a film program curated by Marketa Uhlirova, co-founder and director of the Fashion in Film Festival in London, in collaboration with IUAV University of Venice and Central Saint Martins University of Arts London. The screenings are open to the public and include the Italian premiere of Inferno Unseen (2017, 60'), a film made from rediscovered rushes of Henri-Georges Clouzot's unfinished 1964 film Inferno. The rushes, found in 2007 by Serge Bromberg of Lobster Films, feature kinetic experiments, abstract compositions, and actors Romy Schneider, Serge Reggiani, Dany Carrel, and Jean-Claude Bercq. The new film is accompanied by an electronic score by Rollo Smallcombe with Bromberg's voice. Additionally, Fashion Aperture, a workshop for students from IUAV, Ca' Foscari University, and the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice, is organized by Alessandra Vaccari (IUAV) and Caroline Evans (Central Saint Martins), with fashion designer Nanni Strada as a special participant.
