Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana Host Three-Day Performance Programme
From May 7 to May 9, Palazzo Grassi—Punta della Dogana, part of the Pinault Collection in Venice, will host a three-day series of performances and musical events. These activities are designed to complement the current exhibitions featuring Michael Armitage, Paulo Nazareth, and Lorna Simpson. The initiative aims to transform the spaces of the Pinault Collection into interactive venues for sound and movement, fostering a connection between the artworks and the audience. As part of "Michael Armitage. The Promise of Change," the Nakibembe Xylophone Troupe from Uganda will perform in the atrium of Palazzo Grassi, utilizing the embaire, a large wooden xylophone played by up to twelve musicians, to enhance the experience of Armitage's art.
