Palazzo Foundation Launches to Restore Genoa's Villa Pallavicino delle Peschiere

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

The Palazzo Foundation, founded by insurance broker Lockton P.L. Ferrari, is dedicated to the restoration and reopening of Villa Pallavicino delle Peschiere in Genoa. Filippo Fabbri, the president, highlights the villa's past lack of recognition. The foundation's mission includes preserving the site's heritage while fostering public interaction. Constructed in the mid-16th century for Tobia Pallavicino, the villa boasts frescoes from the 16th century by Bergamasco and pieces by Luca Cambiaso. While the garden remains largely preserved, the original fish ponds have disappeared. Plans to restore the Grotta Pallavicino are underway. Future events will feature installations by Tomás Saraceno, running until June 30, 2025, as well as the inaugural Italian solo exhibition of James Hawke, alongside opera performances. Additional projects will be revealed on the foundation's website.
