Palazzo Esposizioni Rome's Art Education Lab: A Unique Model

institutional · 2026-05-04

At the Palazzo Esposizioni in Rome, there's an amazing educational initiative called Laboratorio d'arte, which uniquely develops its own programs, a rarity in Italian museums. It features three areas: the Atelier for creative workshops, Spazio fontana for exhibition-laboratories, and Scaffale d'Arte, a children's library with around 2,000 books. This library covers subjects like Bruno Munari, art history, and tactile books for the visually impaired, including a collection from the 'Libri senza Parole destinazione Lampedusa' project with IBBY. Right now, Spazio fontana is displaying Katy Couprie's 'Dizionario folle del corpo' until February 16. The lab also runs inclusive programs, with future activities like Dance Well lessons and Spot! guided readings in LIS. The team includes Giulia Franchi and others.
