Palazzo Ducale Genoa's educational programs during pandemic

Maria Fontana, head of Educational and Cultural Services at Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture in Genoa, discusses adapting educational programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. From March 2020, the team launched Spuntini, 5-minute online lab activities that garnered over 50,000 views, later expanding to guided tours, workshops, teacher training, and parent meetings via digital platforms. They collaborated with CNR, Fondazione I Lincei per la Scuola, Centro Studi Montessori, IIT, and Andersen magazine. Online teacher training courses featured Antonio Brusa, Emanuela Pulvirenti, and Bernard Friot, reaching a national audience. The new program Cittadini in costruzione focuses on civic education through creative labs and debates. The project #nonsoloascuola, developed with the Regional School Office and supported by Regione Liguria, integrates environmental and cultural heritage education with legality themes. Fontana emphasizes the importance of treating young audiences seriously and innovating educational offerings.
