Palazzo delle Pietre Opens as Art Residence and Exhibition Space in Rome
The Mazzi family has converted a historic 15th-century palazzo in Rome into a cultural center and private home, now known as Palazzo delle Pietre. Acquired in 2012, this structure on Via delle Coppelle underwent careful restoration with the Soprintendenza, maintaining its original characteristics while incorporating the family’s ancient stone collection curated by Carlo Mazzi. The interiors highlight sustainable materials alongside renowned Italian design brands. Events are hosted by the FraMmenti Club, established by Barbara Mazzi Pensieroso’s mother. The opening exhibition, 'Pietra Plasmata' by Riccardo Monachesi, runs until January 31, 2021, featuring 34 sculptures that interact with the stone collection, curated by Barbara Mazzi Pensieroso and Raffaella Lupi, initiating a new exhibition series.
