Palazzo delle Esposizioni and Treccani Launch Radio Zero Live Podcast Series
Starting January 17, 2020, Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome will host Radio Zero, a live podcast series blending book presentations, music, and discussions. The event takes place at Piano Zero, the museum's free-access area featuring a bookstore, education department, café, and garden. Produced by cultural association Patr'Act and curated by Andrea Carlino with writer Chiara Valerio, Radio Zero results from a collaboration between the Istituto dell'Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani (founded 1925) and Azienda Speciale Palaexpo. The series runs every two weeks on Fridays, with each evening focusing on a different theme, including book launches, readings, debates, and DJ sets. The inaugural event, "Verba volant," features former Minister of Cultural Heritage Massimo Bray presenting two books from Treccani's new publishing line. Subsequent sessions include "Come a teatro" by Michela Murgia (Jan 31), "Psycofashion" by Clara Tosi Pamphili (Feb 14), and "Gramsci forever!" by Massimo D'Alema (Feb 28). Cesare Pietroiusti, president of Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, emphasizes the space's role as an accessible, free venue open to diverse proposals. Bray notes the partnership aims to engage both traditional and younger audiences through shared projects like Treccani Arte and Treccani Libri. Andrea Carlino describes Radio Zero as a cultural action combining editorial novelties with music in a live podcast format. Each episode's podcast will be published on partner websites and social media.
