Palazzo del Senato in Milan seeks sponsors for restoration and public opening

The General Directorate of Archives, alongside the Italian State Property Agency, is seeking sponsors to support the restoration of Milan's Palazzo del Senato. This 17th-century structure, formerly known as the Collegio Elvetico, boasts a concave facade designed by Francesco Maria Richini in 1627 and was damaged during the bombings of 1943. The sponsorship request targets both the Richini facade and the brick facade by Leopoldo Pollack, constructed after 1776, with proposals due by December 27, 2024. Chosen sponsors will receive exposure during the restoration and can suggest additional funding. This effort aligns with a 2023 agreement aimed at enhancing state-owned historical sites. The building is also set to receive €1.4 million for accessibility upgrades, with Alessandra dal Verme focusing on fostering social interaction while honoring historical heritage.
