Palazzo dei Diamanti Reopens with 'Museo della Follia' in Ferrara

Palazzo dei Diamanti, a Renaissance landmark in Ferrara, reopens on September 17, 2022, after restoration, with the exhibition 'Il Museo della Follia'. The show explores the link between art, genius, and madness through historical works from the 16th century to today and immersive installations by Cesare Inzerillo. The exhibition is organized into thematic sections: 'Nati sotto Saturno' features tormented masters like Carlo Dolci and Franz X. Messerschmidt; 'L'artista irregolare' includes Pontormo, Cecco Bravo, and Alessandro Magnasco; 'Melanconia' evokes Dürer, Domenico Fetti, and Emilio Longoni. Works come from museums, institutions, and private collections. In 2023, the palace will host an exhibition on Ercole de' Roberti and Lorenzo Costa starting February 25. Other Ferrara exhibitions in 2022 include: 'Il sogno di Ferrara' by Adelchi Mantovani at Castello Estense (March 5–October 9); the 19th Biennale Donna 'Out of Time. Ripartire dalla natura' at Padiglione d'Arte Contemporanea (March 27–May 29); 'Omaggio ad Antonioni 1912-2022' (June 10–July 10); and Augusto Daolio's works at Palazzina Marfisa d'Este (June 18–September 11).
