Palazzo Collicola Spoleto Spring Shows: Shimizu, PACK Gallery, Pennacchi
The Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive in Spoleto has launched its spring exhibitions, showcasing 'Destruction for Creation' by Japanese artist Soichiro Shimizu in the piano nobile. Additionally, there is a curated survey of Milan's Galleria PACK by Luigi De Ambrogi, along with Vincenzo Pennacchi's permanent piece 'Crepe' (2017), which addresses the museum's earthquake-related cracks. Gianluca Marziani, who has been director since 2010, presents this initiative as part of 'Collicoland', a meta-project initiated in February 2017. The PACK exhibition, featuring 28 artists such as Matteo Basilé and Zhang Huan, is the second installment of 'Cortesie per gli ospiti. Un gallerista. La sua visione'. Shimizu's residency follows those of Rob Sherwood and Stephan Koplowitz. Marziani highlights the museum's strength post-earthquakes, referencing Pennacchi's kintsugi-inspired work. All exhibitions are displayed simultaneously, intertwining the museum's permanent collections, Collicola Residence, and temporary exhibits.
