Palazzo Collicola's Post-Earthquake Renaissance: Fiber Art Biennale and Museum Expansion
One year following the 2016 earthquakes in Central Italy, Palazzo Collicola in Spoleto, under the leadership of Gianluca Marziani, has experienced its most fruitful phase in seven years. Highlights include the establishment of the Carandente Library in December 2016 and various platforms aimed at youth engagement. Key projects encompass Casa dell'Architettura, literary and poetic events with Andrea Tomasini, the inaugural Archivio del Fumetto featuring Luca Raffaelli, a design area, and a sound research initiative with the Do It collective. Two exhibitions, "La Crepa" by Vincenzo Pennacchi and a residency by Soichiro Shimizu, focused on earthquake recovery. The Festival dei Due Mondi saw a resurgence in tourism. Future endeavors include "Filiera Circolare," "Museo Diffuso," a revamped digital train station, a new Museo del Tessuto, and the Fiber Art Biennale in 2018.
