Palazzo Baronio in Ravenna Becomes New Home for Maison Random

Maison Random, a private non-profit institution founded in France by an international group, has opened its new headquarters in Palazzo Baronio, Ravenna. The building, constructed in 1774 by Domenico Barbiani for the Guiccioli family, is one of the city's most imposing structures, located in the historic center's Dante district. The institution will host art exhibitions on the noble floor, events, artist residencies, and an educational program supporting artistic production. The inaugural exhibition, "Il Tempio del Maestro," features photographs by Paolo Roversi (born 1947), a master of 21st-century fashion photography who is native to Ravenna and adopted Parisian. The show, set in the Palazzo's chapel, includes nude portraits of top models such as Kate Moss, Guinevere van Seenus, Kristen McMenamy, Audrey Marnay, Kirsten Owen, Stella Tennant, and Devon Aoki. Roversi works primarily with large-format Polaroid 20×25, using soft light and long exposure to create melancholic, ethereal atmospheres. Maison Random will collaborate with national and international curators for future programming.
