Palazzo Antinori Opens Historic Rooms for Signorini Exhibition
For the first time, the historic Piano Nobile of Palazzo Antinori in Florence is opened to the public, hosting the exhibition 'La Firenze di Giovanni e Telemaco Signorini'. The show, running from late September 2019 for less than two months, presents sixty paintings by Giovanni and Telemaco Signorini alongside other contemporary artists, sourced from the Galleria d'arte moderna di Palazzo Pitti and private collections. Curated by a duo, the exhibition is structured in eight sections and explores Florence's urban transformation in the 19th century, from the Lorraine dynasty to the annexation to the Kingdom of Italy. It also reveals an unpublished correspondence and is organized in collaboration with the Istituto Matteucci. The event coincides with the 31st Biennale Internazionale dell'Antiquariato di Firenze at Palazzo Corsini (September 21-29). The Antinori family emphasizes that this is a unique opportunity, not the start of a new exhibition cycle.
