Palazzo Albergati in Bologna Transformed into Artist Zoo with 90+ Animal Works

The historic Palazzo Albergati, built in 1519 in the heart of Bologna, has been reimagined as an "artist zoo" for the exhibition titled "Animali Fantastici" (Fantastic Animals). Curated by Stefano Antonelli and Gianluca Marziani, this showcase includes over 90 creatures—both real and fantastical—crafted by 23 modern artists. The exhibition is designed as a "garden of wonders," featuring works from artists such as Giovanni Albanese, Camilla Ancilotto, and Marco Bettio, among others. The curators describe the initiative as "the artistic fruit of a sentimental journey through the thousand planes of daily life; a curatorial act of love to build a compelling, inclusive, emotional, and above all fantastic story in the museum." It will be open from December 7, 2023, to May 5, 2024, at Via Saragozza 38, Bologna.
