Palai: Eight Galleries Converge in a Lecce Palazzo for a Non-Fair

In late July 2021, an exhibition called Palai, organized by Ciaccia Levi Galerie and Balice Hertling, kicked off at Palazzo Tamborino Cezzi in Lecce, Italy, running until September 15. This showcase features eight international galleries, including Antenna Space from Shanghai, Blum & Poe with locations in Los Angeles, New York, and Tokyo, and Sadie Coles HQ from London, among others. The venue, a historic 16th-century residence, utilizes various spaces like the courtyard and stables. Co-founder Nerina Ciaccia, a native of Puglia, highlighted the event's aim to bolster local artists and foster a sustainable art culture in Lecce. Future plans include annual gatherings and collaborations with local entities. An Instagram account, Sule, Mare & Arte Contemporanea, humorously critiqued the exhibition.
