Paesaggi Aperti: IN/Arch's year-long cultural regeneration in Sicily

IN/Arch's Paesaggi Aperti project, funded by Italy's Ministry of University and Research, concluded a year of multidisciplinary research across Sicily in 2024. The initiative involved 17 seminars, 3 exhibitions, and 2 design workshops in the provinces of Palermo, Ragusa, Enna, and Syracuse, plus workshops in Favara and Catania. It aimed to regenerate urban areas through community participation, inspired by the legacy of activist Danilo Dolci. In Favara, designers worked on via Reale, a historic but decaying neighborhood. In Catania, workshops focused on the Antico Corso district and the Librino and San Berillo neighborhoods, where a permanent Urban Center is proposed. The project engaged professionals, public administrators, citizens, and students, fostering dialogue on social and urban renewal.
