Padua to Host Italy's Largest van Gogh Exhibition in October 2020
The Centro San Gaetano in Padua will open 'Van Gogh. I colori della vita' on October 10, 2020, curated by Marco Goldin. The exhibition presents 125 works, including 78 by Vincent van Gogh and pieces by artists connected to him, such as Delacroix, Courbet, Millet, Hiroshige, Kunisada, Seurat, Pissarro, Signac, Guillaumin, Bernard, Gauguin, and Francis Bacon (three canvases). Organized into five sections, it aims to be the largest van Gogh exhibition ever staged in Italy. The show is promoted by Linea d’Ombra and the Municipality of Padua, in collaboration with the Kröller-Müller Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. A book by Marco Goldin, 'Vita di van Gogh attraverso le lettere', will be published by La nave di Teseo in October. Key works include 'Self-Portrait with Felt Hat', 'The Sower', 'Portrait of the Postman Roulin', and 'L’Arlesiana'.
