Padimai Opens in Singapore with Eliasson VR Work and Talk

At Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Singapore unveiled its innovative art-and-tech initiative, Padimai, featuring a discussion among Olafur Eliasson, Vignesh Sundaresan (Metakovan), and Mark Rappolt from ArtReview. The dialogue focused on Eliasson's first exhibition at the venue, showcasing his VR installation 'Your view matter' (2022/2025), which was commissioned by Sundaresan and created in collaboration with Acute Art. This immersive experience takes visitors through six virtual chambers influenced by Platonic solids and a sphere, with dynamic moiré patterns reacting to movement. Each individual's exploration is documented using a blockchain system, raising issues of data sovereignty and collective memory. Operating as an 'artistic laboratory,' Padimai emphasizes contemporary art, social practice, and experimental technology, with a focus on decentralized systems and artistic agency. The exhibition is open until 31 March 2026.
