Padiglione Ibiza Opens Inside a Pizza Takeout Joint for Venice Biennale 2026
During the 2026 Venice Biennale, the independent Padiglione Ibiza takes over Pizza al Volo, a popular takeout pizzeria in Campo Santa Margherita, Dorsoduro. Curated by Margherita Chiarva with support from Victoria Genzini and Gabriele Della Maddalena, the three-day project runs from May 7 to 9, featuring a mix of exhibitions, performances, and collective activities open to the public. Participating artists include Margherita Chiarva, Noemi Manser, Beatrice Dettori, Liz Kueneke, COSIMA, and Maria Giulia Alvigini, whose works span photography, ceramics, textiles, somatic practices, and tarot readings. The initiative transforms a convivial everyday space into an interactive hub, emphasizing process and audience engagement over traditional pavilion formats.
