Paço das Artes Opens Submissions for 2021/2022 Project Season with R$6,000 in Prizes
The Paço das Artes, part of the São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, has opened applications for the 2021/2022 Temporada de Projetos, which will be accepting entries until October 22, 2021. Marking its 25th anniversary, this contemporary art initiative invites artistic and curatorial proposals for a showcase in São Paulo. Selected individuals will receive compensation, production budgets, and travel allowances for those from outside the city. Artists can earn R$2,000, while curatorial projects can receive R$4,000. The jury welcomes a broad range of artistic expressions. Applicants need to submit a CV, conceptual texts, a descriptive memorial, an execution timeline, and a budget. Results will be posted on the Paço das Artes website in November 2021. Additionally, the postponed 2019/2020 Project Season exhibition is on view until November 7, 2021, with free entry available from Tuesday to Sunday. The institution has spent 50 years fostering art creation, reflection, and memory, particularly for unrecognized works. Previous participants include notable names like Leda Catunda and Jorge Menna Barreto.
