Paci Contemporary Opens New Brescia Space with Horst P. Horst Exhibition

Paci Contemporary, a Brescia-based gallery specializing in photography since 2004, inaugurates its new 700-square-meter, three-story venue at Viale Bornata 53 in the Borgo Wuhrer district on December 15, 2018. The move from its previous Via Trieste location, which served for fourteen years, was driven by the need for larger exhibition spaces to simultaneously display the permanent collection and temporary shows. The new space is expected to become one of Europe's largest private venues dedicated to photography. The inaugural exhibition, 'Horst P. Horst, a legend of style,' features previously unseen photographs by Horst P. Horst (1904–1999), the German-born, American-based photographer known for his six-decade career with Vogue magazine. Paci Contemporary is the exclusive European representative of Horst's estate. The show includes a complete series of his color Vogue covers and a monograph published by Silvana Editore, curated by Susanna Brown, chief of the Photography Department at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Gallerist Gianpaolo Paci expressed excitement about the new space, which was found in May 2018 after two years of searching.
