Pace Gallery to Open Berlin Space in Former Gas Station for 2025 Gallery Weekend

Pace Gallery will inaugurate its first Berlin exhibition space in May 2025, converting a former gas station in Schöneberg into a gallery with offices, a café, and a bookstore run by Die ZEIT. The space will be shared with Galerie Judin, with each gallery mounting rotating exhibitions. The gas station, built in 1954 and closed in 1986, was restored by Juerg Judin with architects Thomas Brakel and bfs design, winning the Architekturpreis Berlin in 2009. From 2022 to 2024 it housed the Das Kleine Grosz Museum. Pace, which already has an office in Berlin since 2023, will move its team led by Senior Director Laura Attanasio into the space in April. The opening coincides with Berlin Gallery Weekend on May 1, 2025. Pace and Galerie Judin already co-represent artist Adrian Ghenie. The collaboration reflects Pace's strategy to strengthen its European presence, particularly in Germany, following its first German exhibition of Maysha Mohamedi in 2024.
