Pace Gallery Launches NFT Platform Pace Verso with Social Justice Project

digital · 2026-04-20

On November 22, Pace Gallery unveiled its bespoke NFT platform, Pace Verso, created in partnership with the Palm Network. The debut showcases digital pieces by Lucas Samaras, while Glenn Kaino, DRIFT, and Don Diablo will present their works on November 29. Additionally, NFTs from Kaino and DRIFT will be featured at Pace's physical booth during Art Basel Miami. A notable initiative, Pass the Baton, by Glenn Kaino in collaboration with Olympian Tommie Smith, employs NFTs to create a crypto-giving framework that aids social justice activists and organizations. The digital baton NFTs, which reference Smith's relay races, connect to figures such as Sybrina Fulton and Derrick Johnson, with smart contracts ensuring continuous funding. The project is set to launch next month on www.baton.art, in collaboration with UNOPND and Hashed. Marc Glimcher, Pace's president and CEO, mentioned that Pace Verso was initiated in response to artists' growing interest in NFTs, having previously supported their projects on other platforms, and is now integral to the gallery's NFT offerings.
