Pace Berlin Summer Show: 27 Artists Explore Nighttime Ambiguity

Pace Gallery presents 'Goodbye Sadness, Hello Sadness,' a group exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and photographs by 27 international artists at its Berlin space from July 4 to August 23. The show's title references Françoise Sagan's 1954 novel 'Bonjour Tristesse,' evoking a hedonistic yet melancholic spirit. The exhibition centers on nighttime as a setting for possibility and ambiguity. A key installation reproduces a private bar from Friedrich Kunath's Los Angeles studio, featuring neon signs reading 'Goodbye Sadness' and 'Hello Sadness' at each end. Around this, works by artists including Elmgreen & Dragset reference symbols of evening entertainment.
