Pablo León de la Barra Appointed Director of Rio's Casa França Brasil Cultural Centre

Pablo León de la Barra, a Mexican-born curator, will assume leadership of Rio de Janeiro's Casa França Brasil cultural centre in January 2015. His appointment was reported by Folha de S.Paulo. León de la Barra succeeds Evangelina Seiler, who departed earlier in 2014. Currently, he is completing a two-year residency in New York as the UBS MAP Curator for Latin America at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. The organization's presidency was assigned in May 2014 to Macio Botner, an artist and founder of the Rio gallery A Gentil Carioca.
