Pabellón Lagomar: High-Tech Meets Low-Tech in Girardot

architecture-design · 2026-05-13

The Pabellón Lagomar, designed by Obreval, is a 450 m² pavilion in Girardot, Colombia, completed in 2025. Curated by Valentina Díaz, the project explores the tension between high-tech and low-tech construction. Its structure combines industrialized metal architecture—rooted in digital modeling, calculation, and simulation—with local building techniques using guadua bamboo, clay tablets, and traditional craftsmanship. Lead architects Fernando Zarama and Pablo Zarama led the design team including Nicolás Velasco and Karen Bello. Structural engineering was by Tecmo Estructuras Metálicas, electrical engineering by Semger LTDA. Photography by Ivan Ortiz Ponce. The pavilion falls under the category of hospitality and entertainment.
