Over 120,000 Visit Italian State Museums on Ferragosto 2024

According to the Ministry of Culture, Italy's state museums and cultural attractions welcomed more than 120,000 guests on Ferragosto, August 15, 2024. The Colosseum attracted 22,447 visitors, while the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill drew 14,936, and Pompeii Archaeological Park saw 14,837. Other significant locations included the Uffizi Galleries with 10,567, the Pantheon at 9,432, the Accademia Gallery with 7,997, and Castel Sant'Angelo hosting 3,560. The Royal Palace of Caserta had 2,829 visitors, and Palazzo Pitti recorded 2,675. Most of the top ten attractions were located in central and southern Italy, with minor increases noted in the north. New entries for 2024 included the National Archaeological Museum of Venice and the Last Supper.
