Outer Space Press's 'And Then There Was the Night' Unearths a Vampire's Tale
Magdalena Wysocka and Claudio Pogo from Outer Space Press have unveiled 'And Then There Was the Night' (€95), an artist's book that presents a provocative story derived from found photographs. This work evolved from handmade zines featuring stills from the 1920s French adult film 'Der Chef und die Sekretärinnen', which is linked to Sammlung Wladyslaw Kuzdrzal-Kicki, dated 1966. Their research led them to Kuzdrzal-Kicki, associated with an occult publishing house in Munich that released 'The Order of the Dragon' in 1978. The book contains a variety of images, newspaper clippings, and records of vampire rituals in Poland, all printed on light-sensitive paper. The narrative draws inspiration from Bram Stoker's 'Dracula' and the movie 'Alien'. Wysocka and Pogo had previously delved into similar subjects in 'Dead Pages' and 'Dirty'.
