OUT launches Sander seating island with dual-sided backrest

Berlin furniture brand Objekte Unserer Tage (OUT) has introduced the Sander seating island, an evolution of its popular Sander sofa. The new design features a central backrest that can be used from both sides, allowing reclining from multiple angles. Billed as "the most relaxed sofa of all time," the ultra-soft Sander sofa has been transformed into a seating island to suit open floor plans in residential and public spaces. The island maintains the squidgy form of the original but is differentiated by the central backrest. OUT describes the piece as connecting spaces and bringing people together, offering more than a wall-mounted furniture. The seating island is handmade in Germany, available in local upholstery, and can be customized with fabrics from major brands like Kvadrat or Dedar, or bespoke materials. OUT was founded in 2015 and works exclusively with German artisans, including seamstresses in the Swabian Alps and carpenters in Bavaria.
