Ouai Launches Bond Repair Balm, a Three-Minute Treatment for Damaged Hair

Ouai has introduced Bond Repair Treatment, a balm designed to address multiple types of hair damage in just three minutes. The product, developed over several years, is the brand's entry into the booming bond repair category. Diana Pratasiewicz, Ouai's senior director of global education, explained that the formula avoids a single hero ingredient, instead combining vegan silk protein, hyaluronic acid, lipids, and rice peptides to tackle dryness, weakness, brittleness, and dullness simultaneously. The lightweight balm is intended for those who find traditional masks too heavy, and it can be used before or after conditioner. Pratasiewicz emphasized that the three-minute application time was chosen because extended durations offered no additional benefit. The treatment is recommended for the first five to seven washes to kick-start repair, with frequency tailored to lifestyle and hair condition. Trichologist Shab Caspara, founder of hair-care platform Leona, warns that overuse can lead to protein buildup, especially for low-porosity hair. The product is paraben-free, cruelty-free, gluten-free, phthalate-free, and free of SLS and SLES. Available in 1.7 fl oz and 4.8 fl oz sizes, the balm has been praised for delivering salon-soft results without residue.
