Osmanthus Yard: Atelier Wen'Arch's Art Intervention in Huizhou Village
Osmanthus Yard is an architectural installation by Atelier Wen'Arch, part of the Nankunshan-Luofushan Rim Pioneer Zone Architectural Art Project in Huizhou, China. Located on a terrace in Zhongxin Village, Longmen County, the 221 m² site incorporates a late Qing Dynasty Feng Shui wall, an ancient well, and a century-old Osmanthus tree. The project, completed in 2025, was commissioned by Shanghai Fengyuzhu Culture Technology Co., Ltd. and led by architect Shen Wen. The design team included Wang Weishi, Wang Tingting, and Xie Xuanji, with structural consulting by iStructure and construction by Shenzhen Fangyuan Ronghua Metal Engineering Co., Ltd. Photographs were taken by Hao Chen. The terrace sits between the village and a Lingnan forest, with remnants of old residences and a winding retaining wall. The terrain rises one meter from west to east, ending at three tall trees.
