Osimo's PopUp! Festival brings international street art to the Marche region

festival-fair · 2026-04-27

The PopUp! Festival in Osimo, Italy, is nearing completion with a new mural by Italian street art duo StenLex on the facade of Graciotti Gomme tire shop in Piazza Rosselli. The work is part of PopUp! Attitude, an exhibition of 70 works by 20 international artists curated by Monica Caputo and Gian Guido Grassi at Palazzo Gallo. The festival is among Italy's first initiatives to use urban space for public art that reshapes cityscapes. StenLex are known for their Stencil Poster technique, where a matrix is glued to the wall and revealed by natural elements over time, making each piece site-specific and non-reproducible. Their works appear in Paris, New York, London, Shanghai, Barcelona, and Rome. The PopUp! Attitude exhibition traces urban art's evolution from rebellious graffiti to monumental institutional works, featuring four monographic sections and a historical area. It includes works by the OK Group (108, Alfano, Aris, Dem, Dr Pira, Mr Mondo), Joys, Basik, Run, M City, 2501, Etnik, Muz, Peeta, StenLex, Eron, Ericailcane, Zamoc, Allegra Corbo, Moneyless, and Twoone. Some artists created site-specific pieces across Osimo: at the public market, an industrial shed, a nursing home, and iron bulletin boards hosting Poster Art by La Fulmine collective.
