Oscar Lucien Ono's Restrained Ibiza Retreat Honors Es Vedrà's Mystical Pull
Oscar Lucien Ono, a designer, along with his spouse Rubén Cuenca, transformed their hillside retreat in Cala Vadella, Ibiza, originally built in the 1970s, drawing inspiration from the limestone islet Es Vedrà. This two-bedroom residence, covering 1,600 square feet across two stories, showcases a striking white cement staircase and large terraces. Ono focused on achieving harmony, maintaining the white exterior while blending in unique flea-market treasures and rare items, including Pierre Chareau sconces and a Picasso drawing. The kitchen boasts warm wooden cabinetry and brass fixtures, while the ensuite bathrooms are adorned with travertine walls. The main terrace, furnished by La Galerie Elefante, provides stunning views of Es Vedrà. German Saiz captured the project in photographs.
