Oscar Lucien Ono Creates Dream Hotel Installation at Salone del Mobile 2026

exhibition · 2026-04-24

At Salone del Mobile 2026, Oscar Lucien Ono, founder of Paris-based interiors studio Maison Numéro 20, unveiled "Aurea, an Architectural Fiction," an immersive installation conceived as an imaginary hotel. The work, commissioned by the fair, guides visitors through a sequence of themed rooms including a Winter Garden, Thousand Nights suite, Smoking Lounge, Midnight Bar, Copper Garden, Cosmic Cabinet, and Olfactorium. Ono drew on references from Art Deco, surrealism, mythology, and cinema to create a layered visual language. Materials were sourced and produced through circular processes in collaboration with Nagami Design. The installation follows previous Salone interventions by David Lynch and Pierre-Yves Rochon, continuing the fair's expansion into cinematic, narrative-driven environments during Milan Design Week.
