Oscar Giaconia's Green Room at BACO, Bergamo
Oscar Giaconia (Milan, 1978) presents his first institutional solo exhibition, 'Green Room', at BACO in Bergamo Alta. The show features a long green chroma key screen onto which painterly combinations are projected, creating a self-regenerating landscape. Central to the work is the memory of a shipwreck, evoked by the piece 'Colon' (2016), which guides the viewer's imaginative projection. Depigmented papers sealed in an oil-filled vitrine, titled 'Colon (Fly Paper)' and 'Colon (Exquisitor)', float opposite the green backdrop, completing a visual amniocentesis. A performance is scheduled for May 30. The exhibition runs until June 12, 2016, at BACO, Via Arena 9, Bergamo.
