Orvieto Cinema Fest launches #FromNature street art contest

The fourth edition of Orvieto Cinema Fest, an independent international short film festival scheduled for September 21–25, 2021, has announced a parallel street art competition called #FromNature. Organized by festival directors Sara Carpinelli (administrative director) and Stefania Fausto (artistic director), the contest invites young artists to create an original mural on a wall of the Cooperativa Sociale Il Quadrifoglio, a historic cooperative active since the 1980s in socio-health and educational fields. The project is directed by Carlo Alberto Giardina, a well-known illustrator and street artist. The theme centers on environmental awareness, with nature as a starting point for rediscovering concepts like patience, love, humanity, migration, respect, collaboration, and life. Participation is free and open to artists residing in Italy or abroad, either individually or in groups. Each applicant must submit one original draft by April 30, 2021, via email to the festival address. The mural will be realized between spring and summer 2021. The winner will receive materials for the artwork and a 500 euro token. The festival has a longstanding commitment to environmental issues, using recycled paper for materials and organizing eco-themed side activities. The initiative aims to build a regional and national network for environmental awareness.
