Origo: Four Young Artists Explore Origins in Verona Group Show

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The artist residency promoted by Fonderia 20.9, a cultural association in Verona focused on contemporary photography, has culminated in the group exhibition 'Origo', curated by Valeria Marchi. The show features works by four young artists who engaged in dialogue during the residency. Nicolò Lucchi presents photographic assemblages that blend photography and sculpture, treating origin as a childlike game. Elena Grigoli reworks maps of Verona onto black-and-white photographs of her palms, incising urbanistic reality onto the skin of the images. Silvia Sirpresi uses black-and-white overexposure of repeated anatomical details to form an original alphabet where the body becomes sign. Ana Blagojevic recovers her origins in the former Yugoslavia through a physical and visual journey into the Balkan underground music scene. Additionally, Francesco Ambrosini's project 'Recovery' brings to the surface debris of memory through photos, videos, and music. The exhibition is held at the space in via Venti Settembre, Verona.
