Origines: Video Explores Second-Generation Italian Artists in Rome
A new video project titled "Origines – An Italian Second Generation Movement" by director and cinematographer Amir RA (born Cairo, 1987; lives in Rome) produced with Wale Studio – Filming Everywhere documents the identity search of second-generation Italian artists. The video features interviews with Italian-Egyptian rapper Shady Osman and Italian-Senegalese singer Fatou Soukhna, alongside graphic designer Takoua Ben Mohamed, street artist Mosa One, and dancer-choreographer Shady Salem. The soundtrack was composed by Dario Lanzellotti. Filmed in Rome's multicultural Pigneto district, the work aims to celebrate inclusion and resilience, addressing discrimination faced by second-generation youth. Amir RA, himself a second-generation Italian, directed the project.
