Ordet and Lenz Press Open New Spaces in Milan's Città Studi
Nonprofit contemporary art space Ordet and publishing house Lenz Press will inaugurate new locations in Milan's Città Studi district on February 19, 2025. Ordet moves from Porta Romana to Via Filippino Lippi 4, occupying a former garage with nine-meter ceilings. The space remains nonprofit, funded by sales of donated works and patrons including Massimo Giorgetti and Nicoletta Fiorucci. The inaugural exhibition features German artist Cosima von Bonin, presenting large installations, historical works, and a new production. Von Bonin's practice encompasses sculpture, textile art, film, and performance; she was included in the 2022 Venice Biennale. Five major exhibitions are planned through December 2024, continuing Ordet's focus on artists with limited exposure in Italy. Lenz Press opens its first flagship bookstore at Via Filippino Lippi 10, offering catalogs, monographs, theoretical books, and artist books on contemporary art, photography, architecture, and design. New titles include a monograph on Charlotte Posenenske, a collaboration with the Gulbenkian Foundation for a Paula Rego and Adriana Varejão exhibition, a survey of Italian women video artists from the 1960s onward, a title with Gamec on Ernesto Neto, and a book by philosopher Emanuele Coccia. The bookstore aims to engage directly with the public and will host special events during Salone del Mobile.
