Opere in Parole brings Accademia Carrara paintings to Bergamo hospitals
The city of Bergamo has initiated the Opere in Parole project, partnering with Accademia Carrara and the hospitals of Humanitas Gavazzeni and Castelli. This initiative showcases 51 reproductions of Accademia Carrara paintings within hospital wards, complemented by narratives and podcasts from notable artists and writers such as Lella Costa and Paolo Fresu. Each contributor has crafted unique content inspired by chosen masterpieces. The audio material can be accessed through QR codes and the website www.lacarrarainhumanitas.it/opere-in-parole or on Spotify. This effort follows the installation of 400 square meters of art in 2018 as part of La cura e la bellezza. Mayor Giorgio Gori highlighted its significance in aiding the city's post-pandemic recovery. Additionally, Bergamo and Brescia have been designated as the Italian Capital of Culture for 2023.
