Open Design School opens in Matera as part of European Capital of Culture 2019
On February 10, 2018, the Open Design School will launch at Casino Padula in Agna Le Piane, as part of Matera 2019 European Capital of Culture. This interdisciplinary laboratory is dedicated to creating service infrastructure for the cultural initiatives planned for Matera and Basilicata in 2019. The school seeks to revitalize tradition by involving a new wave of designers and will feature a variety of participants through courses, workshops, and events, such as the Open Culture Festival. The opening day will include participatory design workshops with students from Liceo Artistico "Levi." At 18:30, a public presentation will take place featuring Joseph Grima, Rossella Tarantino, Rita Orlando, and Mariangela Liantonio, with sixteen chosen professionals having collaborated for a month.
