Open Call: Writers for Ukrainian Photography Exhibition HOME
Open Eye Gallery, The Double Negative, and ArtReview have initiated an open call for writers based in the Liverpool City Region to submit article proposals for the exhibition HOME: Ukrainian photography inspiring UK words, which will take place from 4 May to 28 May 2023. This commissioned work, published jointly by The Double Negative and ArtReview, aligns with the UK’s largest Ukrainian photography exhibition, HOME, featured across 40 venues during EuroFestival and Eurovision 2023. Writers and critics at any level residing in Liverpool, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, or Wirral are invited to apply. The chosen writer will earn £600 for a 1000-word critical feature, essay, or experimental text about one or more photographers in the exhibition. Pitches are due by 5pm on 30 April 2023, with notifications sent by 8 May and publication online by 25 May. Interested individuals should email Laura Robertson at The Double Negative, including a 200-word proposal, a 50-word bio, and a writing sample. HOME is a project commissioned by Culture Liverpool / Liverpool City Council.
