Online vote opens for Milano Cortina 2026 mascot designs

The public can now vote online until February 28 for the official mascot of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Two finalist designs were revealed during the second night of the Sanremo Festival by Amadeus and Gianni Morandi. The contest, called "La scuola per le Mascotte di Milano Cortina 2026," was organized by the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit. Over 1,600 design proposals were submitted by students from primary and lower secondary schools across Italy, involving 82 institutes and 681 classes. The finalists come from Istituto Comprensivo Sabin in Segrate (Milan) and Istituto Comprensivo di Taverna (Catanzaro). The Segrate students designed a starflower and a snowdrop, inspired by alpine flora, symbolizing perseverance and determination. The Taverna students created a pair of stoats wearing helmets, representing brotherhood and inclusivity. The winning design will be developed into the official mascot, joining the "Futura" logo, which was also voted online in 2021. Voting requires registration in the Milano Cortina 2026 Fan Team.
