Online art courses surge during COVID-19 pandemic
A selection of online art courses, some free due to the emergency, is now available. Coursera, founded by Stanford professors, offers free access to 3,800 courses and 400 specializations for universities affected by COVID-19. The MoMA's 'In the Studio' series includes a course on post-war abstract painting. MasterClass, founded in 2015, features over 80 instructors including Marc Jacobs, Gordon Ramsay, Martin Scorsese, Neil Gaiman, and Annie Leibovitz, with 15 lessons for $90. Italy's 24ORE Business School has moved its master's programs online via live streaming, including courses on the art market and cultural heritage management. Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo launched 'I Speak Contemporary' with video lessons on six contemporary artists: Maurizio Cattelan, Gabriel Kuri, Ragnar Kjartansson, Goshka Macuga, Paola Pivi, and Hans-Peter Feldmann, available at Ispeakcontemporary.org.
