One of Five McLaren P1 Spiders Headlines Bonhams Miami Auction
On May 3, 2024, during the Miami Grand Prix weekend, Bonhams will auction a 2015 McLaren P1 that has been transformed into a P1 Spider by Lanzante, with a projected sale price of $4–5 million. McLaren exclusively manufactured coupes, while Lanzante completed five Spider conversions in 2022 under the guidance of designer Paul Howse. This particular vehicle, number 209, is the second Spider created and was initially sold through McLaren of Philadelphia in a bespoke "Professor 2 Blue" color. It boasts $140,000 in additional features and includes signatures from Ron Dennis and Frank Stephenson. Previously, it was sold for $2.39 million in 2017 and $2.095 million in 2023. The current owner initiated the conversion, and it has fewer than 200 miles since then.
