Ondo Project Space Opens in Pistoia with Giovanni Copelli Solo Show

Arianna Iandelli (Firenze, 1996) and Costanza Nizzi (Prato, 1995) have launched Ondo, a project space dedicated to contemporary art research, focusing on the Italian art scene. Located on the ground floor of a former 1970s textile warehouse in Pistoia, Ondo opens on September 21, 2024. Beyond exhibitions, it aims to become a reference point for artistic research through collaborative projects with artists and professionals. Each exhibition is conceived specifically for the space, resulting from shared dialogue. This methodology extends to the Ondo Agenda, a series of publications inspired by 1970s agendas found in the warehouse, featuring contributions from art critics and researchers. Collaborations include Sali e Tabacchi Journal, Terrafranta organic farm, Chiara Defant's Home Restaurant, and Ampeleia winery. The inaugural exhibition, from September 21 to November 9, 2024, is a solo show by Giovanni Copelli (Correggio, 1989), titled "Paesaggi Italiani." It presents a corpus of paintings exploring the fabric of Italian provinces, with critical texts by Giorgio di Domenico and Jo Rigo, reflecting on a shared imaginary of Italy.
