On This Land Exhibition Opens at Alserkal Avenue's Concrete

On November 19, the exhibition titled On This Land opened its doors at Concrete in Alserkal Avenue, Dubai. This event came together in just three weeks, utilizing thorough research from The Palestinian Museum and the Barjeel Art Foundation, with help from the Alserkal Arts Foundation. It features over 100 works, including digital archives, sculptures, and paintings by Palestinian artists. The cover art by Sliman Mansour depicts a woman in traditional dress next to an olive tree. A standout piece is Ladies of Gaza by Layan Shawabkeh, inspired by a year-long exploration of Gaza's women. Notable attendees included artists Jawad Malhi and Nahil Bishara's granddaughter. Hazem Harb also created a 10-meter charcoal drawing, available until November 26. The exhibition includes photography from the Palestinian digital archive, with remarks from Vilma Jurkute and Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, and a recorded message from Amer Al-Shomali. Daily tours are scheduled for 3:30 PM, with a discussion featuring Rima Fadda and Faris Shomali on November 26.
