OMM Launches 'Creatures of Comfort' for 5th Anniversary

OMM – Odunpazarı Modern Museum opened 'Creatures of Comfort' on September 8, 2024, curated by İdil Tabanca for the museum's 5th anniversary. The exhibition features contemporary works and fantastical designs by 38 international artists and designers, including Ahmet Doğu İpek, Andrea Branzi, Gaetano Pesce, Marc Quinn, and Slavs & Tatars. It blurs boundaries between painting, sculpture, installation, and furniture design, redefining form and function. The show addresses modern humans' indoor lives by inviting nature back into urban spaces, using raw materials like wood, rock, and soil. It explores postmodern nostalgia for nature amid technology, overpopulation, climate change, and pandemics. Unconventional furniture designs challenge Bauhaus influences. Household items serve as cultural windows into human needs and evolution. The exhibition runs until July 25, 2025.
