Omar Kholeif Appointed Manilow Senior Curator at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

Omar Kholeif, who was born in Egypt, has been named the new Manilow senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, according to The Chicago Sun-Times on September 16, 2015. His impressive career includes roles as Senior Visiting Curator at Cornerhouse and HOME in Manchester, and Senior Editor at Ibraaz Publishing. Previously, he directed the Art + Technology program at SPACE in London and curated at FACT in Liverpool. Kholeif also served as artistic director at the Arab British Centre, where he established the award-winning Safar: The Festival of Popular Arab Cinema at the ICA in London. Most recently, he curated the Artists’ Film International program at the Whitechapel Gallery. Additionally, he will be a visiting lecturer in the Humanities Division at the University of Chicago, focusing on Visual Arts and Art History.
